Our chief pilot was licensed by the FAA as a single engine fixed wing pilot shortly after his sixteenth birthday. He then went on to receive FAA ratings to fly gliders, multi-engine aircraft, and lighter-than-air balloons.  He is commercially rated as a single engine, multi engine, and lighter than air pilot.   And, he enjoys introducing others to the sport and art of ballooning.

Texas Air Adventures features a brand new Lindstrand 105 balloon named "Chameleon", so named because of her unique coloring which is different from every angle of view.

Chameleon's envelope weighs about 295 pounds (when dry) and flies with 105,000 cubic feet of air.  She is subject to annual "aircraft" inspections by an FAA certified repair station to ensure that she is air worthy. 

Texas Air Adventures features a Cameron Viva-90 balloon named "Blew Bayou" in honor of the Bayou City (Houston) that she flies over.

Perhaps it is her coloring or her unique design, but Blew Bayou is beautiful to watch and to photograph.  In fact, she has graced the cover of Texas Highways Magazine, was spotlighted in a recent Balloon Federation of America article, was included in the Albuquerque Visitor's Guide, and again was featured in the August, 2004 edition of Texas Highways magazine.

The Blew Bayou envelope weighs about 225 pounds (when dry) and flies with 90,000 cubic feet of air.  She is subject to annual "aircraft" inspections by an FAA certified repair station to ensure that she is air worthy.
